The topic of the article is the coordination of efforts among responsible entities involved in postsecondary transition services for students with exceptionalities who would like to pursue higher education. There two major objectives of the article. Firstly, it is to research and identify alterable issues related to postsecondary transition services for students with exceptionalities. Secondly, the article generates knowledge that will help to increase enrollment and decrease drop out rates, as well as make transition services more inclusive and facilitate involvement of students with exceptionalities in higher education. The authors focus on the concepts of inclusiveness of higher education for students with disabilities and partnership between services that are responsible for creating a more inclusive environment for such students. Therefore, the article addressed valid concerns regarding the transition of students with special needs.
The authors were guided by literature review-based theoretical perspectives and empirical findings related to the positive impact of a college degree on one’s life, high college drop-out rates among students with exceptionalities, as well as scarce information, pertaining collaboration between services to understand the problem of insufficient assistance for students with disabilities during the transition process. Dependent and independent variables of the research are identified andunderstood as such, but definitions of the variables are not provided. Independent variable is data gathered from participating students who provide the information, while dependent variable is the feedback (input) that interests the authors. Data was collected via two questionnaires. The validity of questionnaires was confirmed by 11 rehabilitation researchers. The authors employed cross-sectional study design to compare data at a single point in time and managed data via bracketing and creation of clusters of meanings to obtain an in-depth account of the state of provided transition services.

Dependent and independent variables of the research are identified and understood as such, but definitions of the variables are not provided. Independent variable is data gathered from participating students who provide the information, while dependent variable is the feedback (input) that interests the authors. Findings of the research can be generalized to the entire population of students with learning disabilities who pursue higher education across genders, races, areas of habitat, and country regions, since the sample group was relatively large (445 students) and was represented by male and female students from four universities located in urban and rural areas across the United States.
The authors of the research interpreted findings of their study to mean that the positive impact on alterable factors that facilitate involveement in higher education/ transition of students with exceptionalities and reduce employment barriers (quality of services, faculty awareness, accessibility, advocacy, and empowerment) can be achieved via closer collaboration between services and agencies involved in transition of students with disabilities. Thus, the authors summed up the main idea of the research by concluding that in order to minimize or eliminate barriers to successful transition of students with exceptionalities, several avenues that enhance collaboration between relevant services should be pursued simultaneously.

The obtained data seems to support conclusions made by the authors. The research results are thought provoking, since research conclusions make one analyze the performance of current services for students with exceptionalities and seek for ways to enhance collaboration between them in order to expand education and employment opportunities for students. Author’s conclusions make a reader interested in conducting further research. The research could be improved by describing precautions taken to minimize the bias on the part of researchers. Also, reliability of findings could be improved if the data would have been analyzed by authors independently. The most important thing learned by reading and critiquing the article was that not all published data should be considered reliable automatically, but should be critically scrutinized and subjected to careful analysis.
